Jordan Peele dropped of the anticipated trailer for his upcoming thriller Us and all we gotta say is the flick looks wild. The film follows a family who head out of town for a vacation but things get ugly when they have uninvited guests who are basically their clones...trying to kill them. That synopsis is very brief and not in much detail, but the point is that fans who have watched the trailer more than once have come up with their own theories on what the deep-rooted meaning behind the move really is.

As was the case for Jordan's last film, Get Out, the plot was much deeper than what the trailer led on and these few ideas below have created even more excitement for the movie that arrives March 15th, 2019.

Before we get into the theories, peep the trailer one more time:

The first interesting theory revolves around the song, "I Got 5 On It," played in the car with the whole family. "[...] There’s a 5th family member who died that will be the most elusive/hardest to kill until the mother confronts the loss. Hence, I’ve got 5 On It," a user wrote.

The next interesting theory has to do with the family and how they may be "suppressing" their Blackness."

"Somebody said this movie is about a Black family that have suppressed their Blackness and their suppressed selves are coming back to Reclaim their life. I didn’t think much of that theory until I saw the tethered version of the daughter," the user added to the mix.

Someone else even suggested that the movie could be a possible low-key sequel to Get Out:

As for Jordan's explanation of the film, he said this: “For my second feature, I wanted to create a monster mythology. I wanted to do something that was more firmly in the horror genre but still held on to my love of movies that are twisted but fun.”
