The Chicago police are still working away at nabbing the two suspects who jumped Empire actor Jussie Smollett and left him battered and bruised with a noose around his neck. Jussie's team has shut down claims that the actor is not handing over evidence to police and new reports from TMZ prove that he is, in fact, cooperating since he's still answering any and all questions had by the investigators.
According to the publication, cops are not only questioning Jussie again but also another actor who has appeared on the FOX series. The unknown actor was reportedly picked up from O'Hare Airport last night along with another man that was with him. The two men are labeled as "persons of interest" and cops think they may be the individuals that were seen in the grainy images from the night of the attack.
"Jussie is the victim here, which has been stated by the Superintendent of Police. Jussie has voluntarily provided his phone records from within an hour of the attack and given multiple statements to police," his team shared in a statement.
"Chicago PD has repeatedly informed us that they find Jussie’s account of what happened that night consistent and credible. Superintendent Johnson has been clear from day one that Jussie is a victim. We are continuing to work closely with the Chicago PD and remain confident that they will find Jussie’s attackers and bring them to justice."
