Real recognize real.

While many have come to hold the fabled Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole collaborative album as the benchmark of an ideal hip-hop union, such albums feel more based in fantasy than reality. Still, hip-hop fans can likely agree that Dreamville and TDE are among the game's strongest labels. The former boasts a lineup of J. Cole, JID, EarthGang, Bas, Coz, Ari Lennox, Omen, and Lute. Top Dawg's lineup includes Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Isaiah Rashad, SiR, Lance Skiiwalker, Zacari, and Reason. Between the two of them, we're looking at a truly stacked repertoire.

Recall that JID recently challenged TDE to a bout of friendly competition, announcing "We competing with TDE. That's what needs to be known. Dreamville, we gotta step this shit the fu*k up. Cause them n***as is fire! I don't even know any entities that I fu*k with, but I fu*k with TDE." Now, Reason has kept the spirit of friendly competition alive. The TDE newcomer and JID recently crossed paths at Rolling Loud, and Reason shared an amusing caption alongside a photo of the interaction.

"Ran into this random guy at @RollingLoud he said he was part of some dream team or something idk. Really cool guy tho," writes Reason, prompting an amused reaction from JID. Sadly, Reason let it be known that JID declined his request for an autograph. We can only hope that this budding bromance materializes into something we can enjoy on our streaming service o' choice. Respect to both JID and Reason, who will likely continue to bless the game for years to come.
