Earlier this month, celebrity chef and best-selling author Anthony Bourdain took his own life, as he was found hanging in his hotel room on June 8th; he was 61 years-old.
In the aftermath of his tragic passing, officials have been investigating his suicide for any key factors that may have contributed to his death. Christian de Rocquigny, the local French prosecutor in charge of the examination, revealed that Bourdain had no narcotics present in his system.
The notable culinary connoisseur has been open about his drug use, admitting in his 2000 memoir Kitchen Confidential that he tried every mind-altering substances as an up-and-coming chef situated in New York City.
Bourdain's family had his body cremated as opposed to holding a public memorial. Furthermore, his mother told The New York Times that she plans on getting a tattoo of the name "Tony" on her wrist by the same artist who inked her son.
