Earlier this year, it wasn't uncommon to hear the rap game come alive with cries of "Free Meek!" After the Philadelphia rapper found his freedom, he once again hit the ground running amidst a sea of renewed support and appreciation. Meek Mill has since become a symbol of the justice system, and has been doing his part to bring awareness to the occasionally flawed process. Now, he has taken to Instagram to throw his support behind Young Thug, who recently found himself thrown in jail after failing a drug test.
"#FREESLIME," he writes, alongside a picture of Jeffery. "PUT EM ON PROBATION LOCK EM UP IF HE AINT PERFECT!" It's interesting to see Meek on the other side, championing the "Free Thugger" movement, like so many once did for him. Despite the rap game's occasionally combative nature, at the end of the day, there is an underlying sense of mutual respect beneath it all. Hopefully Thug can keep his head up until his legal woes are sorted out. Free Thugger!
