"Black Panther" to be honored at Common Sense Media awards.

Marvel and Ryan Coogler’s Black panther is set to be honored at the Common Sense Awards as it receives the Great Family Media Award in San Francisco on November 15th.

Common Sense is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the well-being of children through resources in media, techno0logy and public policy.

"The Common Sense Awards honor artists, educators, and advocates who use media and technology to inspire and advance new ideas, engage diverse or marginalized communities, and effect positive change for children," says James P. Steyer, CEO and founder of Common Sense. "In today's divisive culture, this night is an opportunity to celebrate all the good that media can do, shining a spotlight on important issues and inspiring a generation of kids toward a brighter future."

It’s a wholesome kick off to awards season for the Marvel Picture which has since grossed over $1.3B worldwide to date. Most recently, it was revealed that Coogler has reportedly signed a new deal to write and direct the Black Panther sequel. While the idea of a sequel was no secret even before the debut of Black Panther, the secretive dealings of Marvel and Coogler have audiences even more intrigued than usual to see what’s next for King T’Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
