Father has announced a group offering for his imprint Awul Records. The Awful Swim mixtape is exactly the merger it promises in the title, a convergence of weird from both Adult Swim and Awful Records. The project is set to drop on September 21st and marks the first sign of action from the A&R/rapper since the collective signed their big label partnership.
Along with his mixtape, Father will unveil an exclusive line of merch to promote the project, designed by Emmy-award winning designer JJ Villard. Part of the arrangement with Adult Swim calls for the music from this mixtape to appear exclusively on their scheduled television programming (and web exclusives). In fact, Father kicked off round eight of that exclusive arrangement by premiering "Fashionista" featuring Lil House Phone.
That's not all. Father is also releasing a video called "Thotnite" which you can view below. In the video, Father and his eccentrics escape a witch hunt by venturing off into the woods. While there, Father orchestrates a series of hedonistic group activities. Even a poker tournament turns into a bit of a nail-biter.
Although it's been a long time since we've witnessed Father at full capacity, he seems to be "doing the most" to cap off 2018. In October Father will be embarking on these tour dates, somewhere off in the European peninsula, where demand remains high.
