Earlier this year, Kim Kardashian West became the recipient of the CFDA's first-ever Influencer award. Since emerging on the scene, Kim and her sisters have been heralded for their bold and at times controversial style choices. In her acceptance speech, the mother of three reflected on her evolution telling the audience, "Seven years ago when I had a publicist and she asked what I—what were my goals, what were my dreams, and I said I just want to be on the cover of a fashion magazine, and she said to me, ‘Let’s get some realistic goals ‘cause that’ll never happen.’ " She jokingly added, "And so, of course, I sent her my Vogue cover when it came out, an autographed copy."
It is no surprise that as true connoisseur and lover of fashion, Km is not one to shy away from taking risks with her ensembles. While attending the LACMA Art and Film Gala this past weekend, Kim was clad in a form-fitting floor-length black dress which she complemented with a small purse that many have likened to a laptop charger.
