Smoke DZA returned with a new two-track offering earlier today titled, Free Smoke which includes the song, "Energy." On the track, DZA unites with CThaProducer who cooks up a smooth, soulful effort for the rapper to deliver his laid-back, smoked-out flow over. The rapper continues to prove why he's one of the most overlooked lyricists in the game with his new EP. The rapper addresses some of the negative energy that surrounds the rap game and explains that it's important to retract oneself from all of it every once in a while.
"Energy is contagious," he explains on the song's bridge. "Good or bad. Sometimes you gotta unplug and purify yourself from the fuckery. Don't worry about the peanut gallery. They out they room."
DZA's been on a hefty grind this year. In April, he blessed fans with his project, Not For Sale and continued to drop dope music alongside Curren$y, Dave East, Styles P and more.
Quotable Lyrics
You know how many times somebody asked if I was good, and I wasn't?
Carryin' a load, lil' smirk, I kept it truckin'
Fussin' won't change nothin', you at the same function
Gotta switch the cycle up if you wanna change somethin'
