Slept-on lyricist King Mez has returned to the fold. Taking to a playful, yet ever-so-threatening instrumental from Jordan Manswell, Mez flexes an array of flows for two-plus minutes. While his work on Dr. Dre's Compton was an impressive introduction, "MF+G" reveals a rapper in touch with the power cadence. Mez uses his voice like an extra instrument, matching the alternating patterns of his schemes with a technician's prowess. "Ya'll n***as been afraid," he raps, "I innovate, I be fuckin up a dinner date, like nah bitch I don't want no lemonade."

The track arrives alongside the soulful "Sunny Side Up," which displays a different side of Mez' artistry altogether. Together, they make for a welcome display of the North Carolina rapper's potential, and we look forward to hearing what future endeavors he might have in store.

Quotable Lyrics

Ya'll n***as been afraid
I innovate, I be fuckin up a dinner date
Like nah bitch I don't want no lemonade
I do better by the end of day, but just like a sinner say
