Pop star Camila Cabello is serving us some “Sangria Wine” for the summer. Since performing the single with hitmaker and co-collaborator Pharrell in LA, both have now posted images on Instagram inviting fans to get ready for the song’s official release. This has been going on for some time now. According to Headlineplanet.com, the singer has been performing the track on her “Never Be The Same” tour. The outlet also revealed Pharrell’s label - Columbia Records - planned to promote the track on mainstream airwaves. The official release date for the track has not yet been confirmed.
Both artists have made it known that they’ve got no plans on slowing down. Since departing from Fifth Harmony, Camila’s been using this time to test out different sounds and genres. She recently did a country remix on her recent hit single, “Never Be The Same.” And of course, she’s been on the road with her tour. As for Pharrell, the megaproducer recently announced the launch of a restaurant and cocktail lounge in Miami, along with the release of three new additions to his adidas Originals Tennis Hu collection that are due out next month.
After listening to a live rendition of “Sangria Wine,” you can get a feel for the direction she’s heading with the track. It sounds like a reggaeton-infused pop record that’s crazy seductive, but fun enough to get down to at your aunt's barbeque. You already know when it comes to reggae-pop, or anything even hinting towards Island vibes, no one compares to Rihanna. But it’ll be interesting to see how official visuals and track are received by her fans.
