New Kung-Fu Kenny?

It feels like anything can happen. We've already received a surprise album from one of hip-hop's biggest superstars; is another really too much to ask for? Perhaps we have to wait and see. This weekend, Top Dawg hit the studio with Isaiah Rashad, and the pair proceeded to take their session to Instagram live. Rashad went on to tease some of TDE's upcoming repertoire, including the anticipated drop from ScHoolboy Q, a possible project from SZA, and perhaps most surprisingly, a "damn near" finished Kendrick Lamar album.

After assuring fans he is, in fact, "still doing [his] thing, being lazy," Rashad opens up about some of his colleagues. "Got a little Reason, got a little SiR," he teases. "Q finna drop, SZA hair green so you know it's finna be fire. You never know what's going to happen." Case in point, Rashad reveals that Top actually played him a "whole dot album, damn near," leading to speculation of an unexpected Kendrick Lamar drop. Recall, Top Dawg previously teased four potential albums dropping in 2018.

If Rashad is indeed being "lazy," maybe he'll be coming in 2019 instead. That opens the door for Q, SiR, Reason, Ab-Soul, SZA, and Kendrick. Yet Ab-Soul seems to have recently started working, and it would be surprising to find SZA ready to drop after losing time due to vocal chord issues. Is it wishful thinking to imagine Kendrick wanting to stake his claim on 2018, given so many of his contemporaries have dropped solid projects?
