So it comes as a surprise that the closest race he's been in of late, barring his SoundScan numbers, comes courtesy of an elderly man rocking the same Balenciaga 'fit.

The photo diptych was staged by Dutch photographer jaadiee, the man behind the sartorial "Gramps" account which satirizes fashion trends by using his grandparents as models. His most recent styling challenges goes bar for bar, frame for frame on a casual look inspired by A$AP Rocky. The Harlem rapper is sporting black slacks, black Vans, and a Balenciaga crewneck, all loose fit except the shoes.
The photographer's grandfather even mirrored A$AP Rocky's fashionable use of an iPhone and Airpods, down to the specifics and model number. Rocky always a good sport, even when Tyler The Creator is playing the agitator, chimed in his vote for "Who wore it best?," siding with Gramps on this occasion: "GRANDPA GOT THIS 1 💪🏾." Of course, Gramps took a few liberties when he chose his outfit, but differences aside, who you got?
