DRAM does Andre 3000 proud on his intimate rendition.

After debuting his cover of "Prototype" off the Andre 3000 side of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below earlier this year, DRAM has shared the official studio version of the song. Hearing the track, it's immediately clear how DRAM's rap-influenced R&B-soul descends from Andre, but the Virginia rapper also manages to put his own spin on the classic source material, injecting it with humor and charisma in a way only he can.

It's been almost two years since DRAM released his debut album Big Baby DRAM, but he has released a number of short projects in the interim. Most recently, he shared the That's A Girl's Name EP, a 3-song surprise project that's as strong as any of his other material. Still, we can't help but think he has something bigger up his sleeve.

In the meantime, do yourself a favor and watch the "Best Hugs" video, in which DRAM crashes a swinger's party.

Quotable Lyrics:
Baby, you are the prototype
Let's do something out of the ordinary
Like catch a matinee
Baby, you are the prototype
I think I'm in love again
