"Need U" is his first summer release that points to the new heights the Dallas native is bound to reach. He paired up with rapper Gunna for the occasion, taking the love song to a space between both artists' worlds.
"Need U" is about deceit. The melodic rapper warns against making promises that can't be kept atop his self-produced track. The production stays true to his underground sound while his laments stem from an authentic place as well, according to the young artist.
"'Need U' is a song that means a lot to me because it’s mostly based on a true situation," FXXXXY says. "As soon as I did the beat I knew it was gonna be a way for me to vent and then Gunna came through and completed the vision."
