Jay-Z is reportedly not opting in for a Grammys performance this year.

Few people were expecting a new Jay-Z album to be released at this time last year. Fewer still would've expected that surprise studio effort, 4:44, to be one of the most talked-about and respected LP's of 2017, garnering multiple Grammy nominations for Album of the Year, Record of the Year (for "The Story of O.J."), to name just a couple. However, despite the accolades, it looks like Jay won't be gracing that awards show with his presence.

According to Hits Daily Double, Mr. Carter will not be performing live at this year's Grammys ceremony, continuing a sustained absence from the show's main stage that has gone on since 2014, when he joined his wife, Beyonce, for a live rendition of "Drunk In Love." However, just because Hov won't be making it onto the stage to perform (although there's a good chance he'll be accepting an award or two throughout the evening), several other hip-hop luminaries will be making appearances instead.

Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Logic, and SZA will all be performing some of their biggest hits for the industry crowd, as well as the millions of home viewers when the telecast goes down this coming weekend in New York City. Bruno Mars and Cardi B will also be a part of the festivities, no doubt to wow the crowd with a rendition of their joint hit, "Finesse," a remix that has rocketed up the singles charts in recent weeks.

Of his eight nominations, how many Grammys will Jay-Z take home this year? Will he win for either Album or Record of the Year? Let us know in the comments.
