Drake has had a phenomenal 2026, and now, Apple Music is giving the artist his flowers after a hard-fought comeback.

Drake has had one of the best years of his career. It's an impressive feat for an artist who just turned 40 years old. Seldom do you see this kind of longevity, especially in rap, which has always been considered to be a young man's game.

With albums like ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR, Drake has proven that he can give you multiple genres in just one evening. Going into the final months of the year, there is no denying that Drake is going to be winning all sorts of awards while ending up on end-of-year lists.

In fact, on Tuesday, Apple Music got that party started by crowning Drake as the Best Rapper of 2026. It's an honor that was expected given what he has been able to do this year.

"The MC made his loudest comeback in years with a three-album release weekend spanning hip-hop, R&B, and dance, a genre-sprawling gambit that landed as critical and commercial lightning," Apple Music wrote.

Drake Apple Music Rapper Of The Year

Apple Music cited the success of ICEMAN in its write-up, noting that the streaming numbers were off the charts. Moreover, they felt as though the album was easily the most significant hip-hop release of the year.

“ICEMAN did the heaviest lifting commercially, becoming the first 2026 rap album to cross 2 billion streams and reasserting Drake’s rightful claim to hip-hop’s hitmaking throne," the streamer continued.

Going into 2027, Drake has every intention of keeping his foot on the gas. He will be going on tour, and that is expected to be sold out everywhere he goes. Ultimately, if you're a hater, you're not going to like what's coming next.
