DJ Akademiks linked up with Drake over the weekend, and he also ran into someone he has had beef with for years.

DJ Akademiks was one of the many attendees at Drake's 40th birthday party in New York City. On the Friday night, there was a dinner of sorts. This was followed up by a club night on Saturday.

Overall, Akademiks' attendance at the party should not be a surprise. He and Drake have become friends over the years. It has even gotten to the point that Ak has his very own OVO chain.

That said, there were some people at the party who Ak has beefed with in the past. Some of these individuals have yet to actually patch things up with the commentator. One of them is former Joe Budden Podcast co-host, Mal.

While on stream last night, Akademiks explained why he didn't confront Mal while out at Drake's party. Ultimately, it all comes down to not wanting to ruin the evening for everyone.

DJ Akademiks Explains Himself

“I would never have any negative thing in real life at my man’s party," Ak explained. Akademiks then went on to say that regardless of the circumstances, he probably wouldn't have said anything anyway.

He also noted that he will likely be seeing more of Mal in the future as he plans to follow Drake on his upcoming tour. After going to 12 NBA YoungBoy shows, Ak hopes to double this amount for his guy.

Needless to say, if you were expecting a full-on argument between Mal and Akademiks, you simply aren't going to get that anytime soon. Besides, it appears as though Rory is the more confrontational of the duo.
