The birthday surprise follows years of support from Drake, whom Loe Shimmy has credited with helping motivate him early in his career.

Giving away extravagant gifts wasn't the only expensive part of Drake's 40th birthday celebration. Loe Shimmy apparently had a surprise of his own for the Toronto superstar, gifting him a Ferrari as he celebrated the milestone. The Florida rapper's gesture comes just months after the two collaborated on music, although their relationship stretches back considerably further.

According to footage circulating on The Shade Room, Shimmy presented Drake with the luxury sports car for his birthday. The specific model and price haven't been confirmed, but the gift certainly wasn't an ordinary birthday offering. The surprise follows Drake's lavish celebration at Casa Cipriani in New York City on Friday (Oct. 23). More than 400 guests reportedly attended the event, where the rapper offered attendees a chance to win up to $1 million. The Backstreet Boys also delivered a surprise performance, with Drake joining the group for "I Want It That Way."

Loe Shimmy Previously Credited Drake With Encouraging His Career

The birthday gift comes after a particularly significant year for Shimmy, who appeared on Drake's song "I'm Spent" from his May 2026 album Habibti. However, the Pompano Beach native has credited the Canadian rapper with supporting his career well before they recorded together.

During a May interview with The FADER, Shimmy recalled Drake sharing his song "Tina" on social media approximately four years earlier. At the time, the rising artist wasn't certain his music career would work out, and receiving recognition from someone of Drake's stature gave him a reason to keep going. "That one single repost, it gotdamn put a battery in my back," he explained, adding that the support meant more than Drake probably realized.

The two eventually developed a friendship, with Shimmy describing their relationship as genuine rather than strictly professional. He also revealed that "I'm Spent" originated from a recording he'd sent Drake more than a year before its eventual release. Shimmy was particularly appreciative of Drake keeping his word about their collaboration. During that same interview, he recalled reaching out to express his gratitude, telling the rapper, "I love you, I appreciate you for everything."

Apparently, a Ferrari makes for a pretty memorable birthday 'thank you,' too.
