While Jay-Z has reflected on his relationship with Ye as of late, he hasn't really talked about their current dynamic.

Jay-Z has dropped plenty of gems in his JAŸ-Z In 8 docuseries alongside Rick Rubin, including some thoughts on his former collaborator Ye. He has reflected on their collaborative history and their tense moments throughout their careers, including some debates about Chris Martin that showed up on the 2007 Graduation track "Big Brother."

For those unaware, Kanye West spoke on his relationship with Hov on that song, and expressed frustration with the Roc Nation mogul collaborating with the Coldplay frontman after he told Jay about the "Homecoming" track with Martin. "I told Jay I did a song with Coldplay / Next thing I know, he got a song with Coldplay," he rapped on the cut. "Then I went and told Jay Brown [A&R at Roc-A-Fella] / Should've known that was gon' come back around / Should've talked to you like a man, should've told you first / But I told somebody else and that's what made s**t worse."

In episode seven of the docuseries, the Brooklyn MC reflected on this, as caught by Parade and Kurrco on Twitter. "It's almost as if I betrayed him by having a song [with him]. Chris [Martin] is my friend. I introduced them," he remarked. "But that's how he says it. The world hears that and you think, 'Jay foul, he tried to…' It's not off the table that I'm doing a song with my friend because you did a song. But that's the sort of thinking. Part of it is an entitlement. We don't own people. He could do a thousand songs with a thousand artists. Whether you did the song first or not, who cares?"

Kanye West & Jay-Z Beef

For those unaware, Ye and Chris Martin's "Homecoming" came out in September of 2007, whereas Hov's Martin collaboration "Beach Chair" appeared on 2006's Kingdom Come. Jay also appeared on the Coldplay song "Lost+" in 2008.

Jay-Z's remarks about Kanye West in this docuseries have been reflective and praiseful. But they haven't touched on their highly volatile fallout for various reasons. Most recently, Ye apologized for disrespecting Jay's kids with Beyoncé, which led to Hov's diss during his freestyle at the Roots Picnic festival this year.
