Drake dropped "FOMO" as a deluxe project for "HABIBTI," and this week, the album has risen up the projected charts.

Drake dropped four new songs with his HABIBTI (FOMO) project. Fans have been waiting for this album, and it didn't disappoint. While there are still a plethora of FOMO tracks that have yet to be released, this was a nice little way to tide fans over.

Furthermore, HABIBTI was a project that was largely overlooked by the general public. By releasing four new tracks, Drake was able to get a bit more attention on his R&B project. This also helped boost sales, as we have seen from the first week's sales projections.

Early projections had this album selling upwards of $65K in the first week. However, it appears as though the album is doing even better than that. New reporting from DJ Akademiks reveals this project will actually sell 70.5K units. Moreover, it will land at second on the Billboard 200 album chart.

Drake Delivers The Heat With FOMO

All things considered, this is a pretty incredible achievement by Drake. He continues to show the hip-hop world that he is carrying the mainstream on his back. In a world where artists like Quavo can only do 13K units on a project produced by Pharrell, Drake is selling 70K off four songs.

Ultimately, one has to wonder what the future of mainstream hip-hop will look like, especially with these recent sales figures. While Drake's numbers are still good, they aren't what they once were.

Country music and pop have completely taken over. This has created a tough situation for hip-hop, especially as record labels divest.
