Rihanna fans have been waiting for "R9" for 10 years now, and while there is no release date, there are songs in the vault.

Rihanna has not released an album since 2016's ANTI, and fans want that to change. R9 has reached mythological status, and until Riri actually makes an announcement, fans are going to continue to yearn.

Recently, Rihanna was at a Fenty Beauty event. It was here that she was asked how many songs she is sitting on. The artist actually gave a pretty honest answer, with a ballpark of roughly 170 songs.

“If there are 10 products [in the Gloss Bomb Vault] then I have at least 17 Vaults," Rihanna said. The "at least" suggests that there could be a lot more than 170, although at this point, who's counting?

It's a large number, and overall, it proves that Rihanna has been making music over these past 10 years. While some fans are curious about her desire to release new music, there is no denying that the creative edge is still there.

Rihanna On Unreleased Music

Throughout these past 10 years, Rihanna has been focused on different endeavors. She is heavily involved in her Fenty Beauty business. Moreover, she has been raising her family with A$AP Rocky.

Ultimately, she just hasn't had the itch to drop a new album. Even with all of the anticipation, there hasn't been a single moment when an album actually felt close to happening. While that is unfortunate, fans are simply being asked to respect the decision.

There is still a possibility that Rihanna drops new music in the future. However, don't expect R9 to be released anytime soon. Instead, you will have to continue exercising patience.
