Drake has previously spoken out about his dislike of the term "tricking," a conversation Victoria Monét also chimed in on.

A combination of a generous spirit and a whole lot of cash allows Drake to consistently and frequently give gifts to his friends, women he meets, and fans. Regarding the female gaze in particular, he previously talked about how much he hates the term "tricking." It refers to the idea of investing financially in someone for the sake of companionship, possible intimacy, or attention, and it's a label that folks levied at the 6ix God over the years. Victoria Monét even referenced it during an interview with Complex, during which she talked about her new album Frequency Of Love and much more.

During the discussion with Jillian Superstar, the two joked about making Drizzy a part of tricking conversations. Specifically, their break-down happens at the 11-minute and 20-second mark of the YouTube video below. Superstar called the Toronto rapper a "professional trick," and continued to debate about the term after Monét laughed at Jillian's assessment.

He responded to this in an Instagram comment under coverage of Monét's conversation. "There's a return on investment in your soul for doing things for people who you feel deserve it," The Boy wrote. "Whether you feel that way in the moment and they prove otherwise over time or it's a gesture to acknowledge consistent love and loyalty the difference is there isn't an expectation on the other side. It's self awareness that you have been blessed with an obscene amount of money and joy is the emotion that excites you the most. So once you have experience enough joy from material things for yourself sometimes the only way is to see the joy on faces after unexpected gestures for others. Transactional exchanges with the expectation of intimacy are a different frequency."

Drake On "Tricking"

Elsewhere, Drake is in Coachella rumors once again, and we'll see if that pans out. It would be his first time headlining since 2015, but nothing has officially emerged at press time. In any case, OVO fans feel satisfied, as a world tour in 2027 will follow the recent release of HABIBTI (FOMO).

Meanwhile, Victoria Monét is enjoying the praise for Frequency Of Love and probably has more big plans for the next few months. While some fans had strong reactions to this tricking conversation, it seems like both sides here are quick to dispel the term's negative connotations in today's society.

Beyond engaging and breaking news coverage, Gabriel makes the most out of his concert obsessions, reviewing and recapping festivals like Rolling Loud Miami and Camp Flog Gnaw.
