Duane "Keefe D" Davis was found guilty of orchestrating the murder of Tupac Shakur on Monday. The exact charge was first-degree murder with a deadly weapon. It only took the jury three hours to come to a decision.
This swift verdict came after a two-week trial in which the prosecution brought 24 witnesses to the stand. Keefe D's interview statements and memoir were also used throughout the trial, which ultimately led to the jury's decision to convict.
After being given his guilty verdict, Keefe D made some demands in the courtroom. In the clip below, he tells the judge that he wants all of his "stuff" back. This includes phones and anything else that was taken into evidence. Furthermore, he stated that he had plans to appeal his conviction. The judge swiftly explained that this can only be done once he has been officially sentenced.
When Will Keefe D Be Sentenced?
Keefe D is going to be sentenced on October 13 at 10 AM local time at the Clark County District Court in Las Vegas. The maximum sentence for this conviction is life in prison. At 63 years old, this is ultimately a death sentence for Davis.
Once sentencing is over, Keefe D will be able to appeal his conviction. Whether or not he is successful remains to be seen. If no new evidence is presented, and it is found that the judge and jury followed the law, then it is unlikely that this will go anywhere.
