Big up Solange for this one!

Solange Knowles is set to receive a very prestigious award for her musical efforts and successes. The 31-year-old has been named Harvard Foundation's artist of the year and will be receiving her award on March 3rd.

The foundation is all about exploring intercultural and race relations, something that was a major theme throughout Solange's last album, A Seat at the Table. Tracks such as "Don't Touch My Hair" and "Mad" speak to the trials of black womanhood and are without a doubt empowering songs that will be remembered.

Last year Solange pulled in a number of awards such as the American Express Impact Award at the 2017 Billboard Women in Music Awards and being named one of Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year.

Right before the New Year, Solange had to cancel an anticipated performance in South Africa due to health reasons, that urged to open up to her fans about her diagnosis of Autonomic Disorder.

"The past five months I have been quietly treating, and working through an Autonomic Disorder. It been a journey that hasn’t been easy on me... Sometimes I feel cool, and other times not so cool at all," she wrote on Instagram. "It’s a complicated diagnoses , and I’m still learning so much myself, but right now, my doctors are not clearing me for such an extended lengthy flight, and doing a rigorous show right after."
