Max B and Karen Civil had a public clash online last month.

Max B’s been on one hell of a comeback since he came out of prison in November 2025. Part of this is because he’s had a solid team behind him, though his relationship with Karen Civil has seemingly soured recently.

During a recent sit-down with Jason Lee, who claimed Karen Civil hacked the Hollywood Unlocked Instagram page, Max B detailed how their relationship went sideways and their history over the course of two decades. Doubling down on the hacking claims, he called Civil a “crash out.”

“She crashed out on me, she crashed out on my lawyer. I knew Karen Civil 20 years ago; she crashed out on me back then,” Max B said. “I fired her 20 times, hired her 20 times, fired her in prison; she’s been working for me ever since. She’s infatuated with the Max B business.”

Max B Details BET Awards With Karen Civil

Max clarified that she never managed him, primarily handling PR for him, and then said that she was “ran out of the BET Awards.”

“They chased her out of the building,” he said before clarifying that she initially was supposed to produce his performance at the award show. “She was [producing my performance] in the beginning until she start trying to take over the offense. You don’t run the offense. Tom Brady runs the offense.” When asked why she got ran out of the award show, Max B explained she was “trying to do the most.”

“The crash out at the BET Awards was epic. They tried to remove her from the premises. She like made a move. I thought she was Herschel Walker the way she boogied and ran up the stairs when they were trying to come grab her,” Max B continued with a laugh.

If you recall, Max B accused Karen Civil of hacking his Instagram page in late July before publicly terminating their partnership. Civil countered his claims, saying that their work is “now complete” and adding that her company Always Civil “completed our proprietary social audit and closed out the backend access, relationships, and connections tied to that work.”
