Jay-Z has some big performances planned this year. Of course, he already performed three nights in a row at Yankee Stadium. Overall, these concerts were a massive success, and fans loved every single moment.
Soon, he will be performing in London and Paris. In October, he has two shows planned in Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium. These are going to be massive concerts, especially when you consider all of the L.A. talent he could bring out.
In fact, during a recent live stream, DJ Akademiks pondered the possibility of Jay-Z bringing out Kendrick Lamar. Of course, Los Angeles is Lamar's home city. Furthermore, one of the concerts is October 24th. This date is significant as it marks Drake's birthday. His 40th birthday, to be exact.
DJ Akademiks Believes Jay-Z Has Something Planned
As Akademiks argues, this could be the perfect time for Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar to send a message to Drake. There has been underlying tension between Hov and Drizzy for a while now, and bringing out K-Dot on the man's 40th birthday would be an obvious subliminal. Especially so if Lamar performed a track like "Not Like Us."
DJ Akademiks then went on to say that he has heard a Jay-Z album does exist. Although at this time, it is unclear whether or not it is truly finished, or if it is simply in development.
Whatever the case may be, there is no denying that Jay-Z has all of us watching his every move right now. He is having a huge year, and the fans are ready for some new material. If a battle with Drake breaks out, that is just an added bonus.
