Drake has been the talk of social media over the past couple of days thanks to his decision to do a 20v1 for Stake's ninth anniversary. He got to go on short dates with 20 women before he eventually picked three finalists. These finalists included Lena The Plug and the eventual winner, Pinkchyu.
Older figureheads in hip-hop hate the fact that Drake did this. Meanwhile, his younger fans don't really understand the backlash.
One of the people who was disappointed in Drake was none other than Wayno. He made a video on YouTube where he called Drake's actions corny. Wayno's take led to widespread backlash on social media, and on Monday night, Drake himself offered up a reaction. As you will read, he took aim at the commentator for appearing on a Marvel podcast.
Drake vs. Wayno
"This you last week reviewing Marvel?????" Drake wrote. "Returning guest??? Never too late for some joy gang. Take is easeeeee."
Drake's take here is pretty simple. He believes that he should be allowed to have a little bit of fun sometimes. Everyone else is engaging in their hobbies, and no one has anything to say about it. However, some folks lose their minds whenever he is involved.
At this stage in his career, Drake is too big to fail. The Kendrick Lamar battle in 2024 put that notion to the test, and for a while, it seemed as though Drizzy was, in fact, fallible.
However, the success of ICEMAN and the ensuing internet discourse just proves how he continues to be the most relevant man in rap.
