J.Cole Interview With Tavis Smiley
J. Cole
J.Cole was Tuesday night’s special guest on PBS’ Tavis Smiley Show (I never heard of it either). During the lengthy interview, Jermaine spoke about a wide variety of things, including his new album Forest Hills Drive 2014, the tour, his childhood, competition in hip-hop, and much more. He also took time out to break down a few tracks off his new album as well, with “A Tale Of Two Cities”, “Fire Squad,” and “Love Yourz.”

J. Cole offers up a new music video today, for "She Knows" off his Born Sinner album. Similar to his "Crooked Smile" music video, this visual tells a short story, and the Cole World MC is hardly pictured in the video at all.

J. Cole's "Wet Dreamz," taken from last year's 2014 Forest Hills Drive, is a song about puppy love, so why not have two dogs star in the video? Especially in an age when anything involving adorable animals is almost a sure-shot to go viral, it seems like a good idea. Starring a german shepherd and a cocker spaniel, the video has two young dogs engaging in some animal flirting.

Kendrick Lamar Talks Joint Album With J. Cole, "To Pimp A Butterfly" On Hot 97
Kendrick Lamar
Of all the seemingly harebrained, dream scenarios that rap fans dream, up a Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole joint album is one of the craziest. The thing is, both artists have lent credibility to the rumors by saying they've recorded together a lot in the past and dropping hints every now and then. The latest of these comes in Kendrick Lamar's interview on Hot 97 on the day of his announcement as a Summer Jam headliner.

J. Cole is finally ready to deliver the finished product of his "Crooked Smile" video with TLC, which he revealed he re-shot because he wasn't happy with the first version. This new version is definitely packed with a message (which Cole spells out for you at the end of the video). The cinematic visual tells the story of a man (J. Cole) celebrating his daughter's birthday, and another man, a cop, who come face to face when the cops bust J. Cole at his home later that same evening.

Word On The Street: Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole
Word On The Street: Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole
The topic of conversation for this week's Word On The Street episode, centers around two highly-praised MCs, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. With both MCs recently trading remixes, each killing the other's song, the two artists have been on our mind. More to the point, their mythologized joint album has been on our mind.

J. Cole
J. Cole is sometimes referred to as J. Snore (yes, we see you in the comments), and that's simply because most of his music is decidedly not-bangers. However, every now and then the North Carolina rapper comes through with a record you can blast in the whip, and on 2014 Forest Hills Drive, "G.O.M.D." was one such track. It's a highlight and fan-favorite for good reason.

Opening with delicate, arrhythmic piano twinkles, atmospheric strings and a high-pitched J. Cole spitting beat poetry-inspired bars, the 2014 Forest Hills Drive intro track comes off sounding a hell of a lot like Chance The Rapper. The video's just been shared.
