Last week saw a few highly anticipated releases, including new albums from Ty Dolla $ign, Jeezy, and Logic. Surprisingly, none of those guys made it into Top Tracks -- well, except Logic, who somehow ended up on a Juicy J track. Instead, Pusha T, the new prez of GOOD Music, came out of hiding and hit us with two top 10's. The other winner of the week has to be the astoundingly prolific Metro Boomin, who has three new productions in this week's list.

One of the top stories this year has been Future's incredible string of releases. He's put out two stellar mixtapes and two No. 1 albums, including a joint effort with Drake. And he put out Monster, the tape that started it all in late October of 2014. Is his run historic? Well, some people have been saying that 2 Chainz had a period of similar productivity in 2012 and 2013.

Upon the release of the brand new Metro Thuggin collab, "Hercules," all is well between Young Thug and Metro Boomin. Of course, this wasn't the case a few hours before the release, but when Thug announced a Metro Thuggin collab on Instagram, it was assumed the whole thing had been a publicity stunt.

Well, damn. Young Thug may have just surpassed 50 Cent in the running for biggest troll of 2015. Fans really thought that Metro Thuggin was gone forever. But now, it seems, the whole beef might have been a means of promoting Thugger's new song, "Hercules," which drops tonight...produced by none other than Metro Boomin.

Metro Boomin just turned 22 in September, and he's already racked up one of the most enviable discographies in modern hip hop. Everyone from Gucci Mane to Drake to Nicki Minaj has called upon the St. Louis-via-Atlanta beatsmith for some work, and it's no surprise that he's been able to find success with such a wide range of artists.

This was a bit of a dry week for rap and R&B releases. While we await projects from Ty Dolla $ign, Jeezy, and Logic next week, things are pretty quiet, with no big debuts this cycle. The good news is, there are still quite a few rap albums occupying the top ten, with The Weeknd, Fetty Wap, and Drake & Future's WATTBA continuing to do numbers. Meanwhile, Bryson Tiller continues his low-key but impressive presence within the top 30.Check out the full breakdown below.
Metro Boomin Says Twitter Rant Had Nothing To Do With Young Thug
Metro Boomin Says Twitter Rant Had Nothing To Do With Young Thug Nov 11, 2015 at 09:53am
Metro Boomin inadvertently sparked a Twitter spat between Young Thug and Future earlier this week when he discouraged rappers from trying to keep up with Future's rate and quality of musical output. But as it turns out, his comments had nothing to do with Young Thug at all. "You gotta be crazy if you think I subtweeted Thug," he tweeted Tuesday night. "That's corny. People are allowed to believe what they want though. True or not."

Yesterday, Metro Boomin' went on a little twitter rant. The producer was basically venting about rappers hopping on the Future trend-- aka dropping new mixtapes at a lightening speed rate, whereas before, said artists might have been holding all their music close to their chest.

10. Fetty Wap - Jimmy Choo It's been less than two months since Fetty Wap's debut self-titled album, which went No. 1, and he's already dropped a joint tape with French Montana and has another EP in the works. "Jimmy Choo," dedicated to the Malaysian fashion designer, would sound nicely on the upcoming release. It's softer than most of Fetty's radio anthems, as Zoovier channels the sound of his new life of luxury.

Metro Boomin Discourages Rappers From Trying To Keep Up With Future Nov 9, 2015 at 04:17pm
Future is one of the hottest rappers out, and part of that has to do with the sheer volume of music he's released in the last year -- but it wouldn't mean anything if the quality wasn't there too. Metro Boomin, one of Future's closest collaborators, feels his boy Hendrix has encouraged rappers to flood the streets with mixtapes, but he has some advice -- if you're not Future (or Wayne or Gucci), it's probably not for you.

This week wasn't all that exciting for debuts, as the biggest new album came from DJ Khaled, and didn't manage to crack the top 10. This week we did see a lot of albums continue to hold on to high chart positions with The Weeknd, Fetty Wap, and Drake and Future's project all proving they have some longevity on the charts. Bryson Tiller is also hanging on with his debut, while Game's two albums have slipped considerably.Check out the breakdown below.

Future Responds To Funk Flex Rant With "Monster 2" Boasts Nov 4, 2015 at 01:48pm
Funk Flex is known to go use his Hot 97 show to voice some very strong opinions (amidst many bomb sound effects). Last night, he reportedly went on a tear about how New York radio should support local artists before those from outside the region.  Future, who hails from Atlanta, and is no stranger to being played on the station, apparently caught wind of his remarks, and took the speech as a challenge.

Is Lil Wayne Planning "No Ceilings 2"? Oct 31, 2015 at 06:04pm
Two days ago, Lil Wayne set the Internet ablaze with a 7 second recording of him rapping over Drake's "Back to Back." Obviously a remix is in the works -- hopefully on the way soon -- but the snippet could be a preview of an even bigger release: a sequel to his 2009 mixtape No Ceilings.

We knew Top 5 Dead or Alive was on the way, and Jadakiss has just confirmed that we'll be getting his fourth studio album in three weeks, on November 20. He also shared the album's cover, which shows a bronze bust of Jada himself. It seems the cover is a photo of the same bust that Jada unveiled at a recent Def Jam event in honor of T5DOA.
