Sunday (July 8th) marks Jaden Smith’s 20th birthday and while peers and fans have been spreading the love, nothing is quite like the love of a mother and father.
In an Instagram post in which Jada Pinkett Smith uploaded a baby picture of a young Jaden in Diapers, the 46-year old star looked back on her growing boy and expressed the bittersweet feeling that accompanies his introduction to the life of twenty-somethings.
“Jaden is 20 today and I’m ALL in my feelings about it,” wrote the veteran actress in the caption. “I’ve enjoyed watching him get older until the teen dropped off the number lol. You’re still my baby Jaden ... I really don’t think that will ever change:) Happy Birthday my love. Thank you for always making my heart smile.”
Likewise, Will Smith took to his now preferred medium of Instagram to wish his son a happy birthday, using an old photo of Jaden rocking a Spiderman suit while with cousin Jordyn Woods, In the caption, Will alluded to Jaden’s love for superheroes and his tendency to slide that affinity into his everyday life, notably when he rocked that white batman suit to prom—a reprisal of a similar costume that he wore to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding.
“Happy Bday, Jaden. 20 Years Old ~ WHOA,” wrote Will. “And Wait... I don’t know what the big deal was when you wore a White Batman Suit to Prom? You have ALWAYS worn superhero suits on your dates!”
