Trippie aknowledges darker sider, in Instagram preview of yet completed album.
After missing out on that Drake feature, Trippie has refocused his energy on his own mingling matters. Trippied took to Instagram to post a video in which the sounds of a new song induce a light sway in his dreads. The camera focuses in on his dark circles, as he figuratively points the number one hand sign, alluding to the number one sales figures, or his claim to the top. He then reaches out of view to pick up his frozen 8 ball chain, a pendant that reflects his thornier side.
The song itself makes references to suicide in way that suggests that mental health, as a topic, has become utterly commodified or broken down into more digestible flash cards. Trippie Redd has alluded to depression in past songs, going as far as to credit his music as a surefire coping mechanism against draining mental health issues.
Another important takeaway from this post seems to be that Trippie is nearing completion of his next album. The caption reads: "My new album gunna be so fye 💕 comment “⚰️” if you can’t wait for this 😓"
Keep it locked for more from Trippie Redd in the days to come.
