Out of nowhere last Friday, Eminem dropped a new album entitled Kamikaze. Arriving just nine months after last year's Revival (which, by comparison, was released four years after its predecessor), the album bears Beastie Boys-referencing cover art and plenty of disses to Em's peers. Despite only having around three days to do its thing on the charts, the title track quickly rocketed to the top of our weekly top ten.
This week, Tekashi 6ix9ine is the only artist with multiple appearances inside the top ten. New tracks barely missing out on spots include Eminem and Royce Da 5'9"'s "Not Alike" (#11), Eminem's "The Ringer" (#12), YoungBoy Never Broke Again's "No Mentions" (#14), and Lupe Fiasco's "Pearl Harbor" (#15).
10. Ty Dolla $ign & Jeremih Feat. Lil Wayne - New Level
One of two holdovers from last week's chart is this single from the still-unreleased collab album from Jeremih and Dolla $ign, MihTy. Unfortunately, the Lil Wayne-assisted "New Level" doesn't offer any reassurance that the project will arrive anytime soon, as it's been taken down from SoundCloud sometime in the past week. In its second week out, the track is down seven places from #3 to #10.
9. YoungBoy Never Broke Again - Can't Be Saved
YoungBoy's profile continues to grow, and as that happens he's shown that he's got a near-boundless supply of music to keep fans on their toes. Not only has he released two EPs, 4 Freedom and the joint release with Kevin Gates, 4 Respect, in the past two weeks, but he's also delivered some loosies. One of them, "Can't Be Saved," debuts at #9.
8. Tekashi 6ix9ine Feat. Anuel AA - BEBE
For Tekashi's latest trick, he's delivered a Spanish-language single with Latin trap star Anuel AA. "BEBE" is one of his two tracks on the chart this week, and it debuts at #8.
7. Bryson Tiller - Canceled
Two weeks ago, Bryson Tiller dropped a clutch of three new tracks, two remixes and one original. After two of those made last week's top ten, now only the original, "Canceled," remains in week two. In its second week out, the song rises three places from #10 to #7.
6. Kanye West - XTCY
A few weeks back, Kanye shared a rough cut of a new track with DJ Clark Kent. Last week, that track arrived in official form. "XTCY" is the one with the lyric about wanting to fuck all of the Kardashians, and it debuts at #6.
5. Logic - YSIV Freestyle
Logic's clearly in mixtape mode this year. After sharing volume two in his Bobby Tarantino series earlier in 2018, last week he announced the return of his long-gone Young Sinatra persona via a new freestyle that reflects the boom-bappy, rappity-rap character of the previous projects with that title. "YSIV Freestyle" debuts at #5.
4. G-Eazy - Bad Boy
It's been about nine months since G-Eazy dropped The Beautiful & Damned, and with no announced plans for a follow-up, he's nevertheless continued to put out music at a fairly consistent clip. "Bad Boy" is his latest loosie, and it debuts at #4.
3. Tory Lanez - Kendall Jenner Music
In the lead-up to his upcoming Love Me Now? project, T. Lanez has made our top ten in each of the past three weeks, even topping it two weeks ago with his recent Bryson Tiller-assisted single. His latest offering, "Kendall Jenner Music," debuts at #3.
2. 50 Cent, Casanova, Tekashi 6ix9ine & Uncle Murda - Get The Strap
Always one to keep marketing in mind, 50 Cent's latest single is named after a catchphrase he's developed over the past few years. Bringing together NY veterans Casanova and Uncle Murda, and dubiously anointing Tekashi as the heir of their city, "Get The Strap" debuts at #2.
1. Eminem - Fall
"Fall" was almost preordained to go #1. It's a surprise, for one. It's an Eminem track. And most importantly, it's a diss song, to a Kendrick's "Control" verse level. In just three days, it racked up over 20,000 more views than its closest competitor. It easily debuts at #1.
