Last week, Skepta shared a fun remix of his big track "Shutdown" that featured actor Idris Elba, but today, he's got something much weightier for us. He just lost one of his closest friends, Lukey, the other day, and now he offers up an ode to his fallen comrade. Here's "Lukey World."
Especially in the wake of Chinx's murder, we've heard a ton of powerful, soul-baring tracks, but none of them capture the cold, harsh reality of death as starkly as Skepta's couplet: "We were getting shit popping / Now I'm on Google searching coffins" Through all the pain, he still manages to stay sharp with barbs like, "Heard that pussy all takin' shots but he's just a wannabe Rooney," but it's clear that Skepta's hurting here. At least he was able to turn his sadness into a great track that pays tribute to Lukey.
