Stuart Matthewman gave some details concerning Sade's impending release.

Sade is set to officially come out of her musical hiatus with a new full-length project. Her long-time collaborator, Stuart Matthewman, told Rated R&B that he is working with the songstress on her next release. This surprise is also not that shocking since Sade is known for her ability to fade out of the public's eye to reemerge years later with potent relevance. Although Sade did offer us a lick of her style for A Wrinkle In Time's soundtrack, a whole studio album would receive a warm welcome from her fans. Her last release, Soldier of Love, was released in 2010. This came after Lover's Rock which dropped in 2000. Seems like we're on schedule.

An official release date has yet to be announced. Stuart Matthewman said the release date is contingent on Sade and her creative partners' contentment: "When we’re happy, then we’ll let everyone else hear it.” The RnB singer doesn't care for being prolific by releasing music regularly, contrasting many contemporary artists. Matthewman said the artist is “not interested in the fame or any of that stuff. She likes to put out art. So when it’s ready, it will come out.”

Matthewman recalls a funny anecdote that illustrates some fans perception of the artist's career choices: “Years ago, I think it was when ‘By Your Side,’ the song came out, and big posters were stuck around New York. Someone sprayed or wrote on top of it, ‘B*tch sings when she wants to.’ Sade loved it.”
