The "Don't Let Me Down" singer is dealing with a big controversy.

R&B crooner, Sabrina Claudio, is dealing with the result of a social media backlash this week as screenshots of offensive tweets and Instagram comments made by the singer were posted online.

The tweets seem to come from before Claudio was a singer, and were posted on her old account under the name @ohdamnyoureugly. Some of the posts she made include statements like "it must suck to be a black girl with no booty," and "Fuck it, i'll be a black girl for halloween." She also used the n-word in several tweets as well, quoting lines from 2 Chainz and A$AP Rocky songs. She acknowledged that this was her old account in another tweet where she claimed that she missed her old alias.

This is in addition to an Instagram comment that was allegedly made earlier this year, where Claudio insults another woman by saying, "I'd rather be a pasty white girl than a sweaty chonga."

Claudio posted an apology on her Twitter this morning, saying that "I am deeply sorry for the insensitive words I've used. Some of the things you are seeing are true while others aren't. I realize my past ignorance is affecting people I care so much about and I am so sorry. I've made mistakes and while I cannot take them back, I will learn from them."

It's unclear whether an apology like that will be enough to get the public back on her side, but given that the internet never forgets, she'll have to contend with her past behavior for a long time.
