Rapper Blvd Quick Shot Dead At 25 Near His Baton Rouge Home

A police investigation is in progress.

Ashton Wells, who known by his artist moniker Blvd Quick, has passed away at the age of 25. The Baton Rouge rapper was found dead in his hometown on Monday, November 26, at an apartment complex located off 12 and Millerville Road. His death is still under investigation.

Police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. said the artist's lifeless body was found around 12:30 AM near his home at the Lakeside Villa Apartments in the 2400 block of Weldwood Drive. Mike Chutstz, the spokesman for East Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services says a shooting was reported just before midnight, though Well was not taken to any hospital. 

Law enforcement authorities are accepting leads that will help bring closure to their investigation. No suspects or motives have been identified as of yet. Any information can be sent to the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867, area code 225.

Blvd Quick dropped a music video for his Fredo Bang-featured track "Slept On" hours before his death. The clip's videographer left a comment in his memory.

"Rest in peace Blvd Quick. I'll never be able to thank you for what you've done for me, my future, and this channel. Replacement isn't possible.. I saw you just two days ago. Every shoot with you was nothing but fun, and every time we shot a video, we'd tell each other that it had to be the one. And this was the one. You just dropped and hit 100k in a day. In my eyes you'll forever be missed."
