With A$AP Rocky's spiritual guidance, the self proclaimed “King of the Youth” Playboi Carti has inspired a following with Soundcloud hit singles “Fetti” and “Broke Boi.” Now, his anticipated debut mixtape is ready to drop in early 2017.
“I feel like niggas really be on my shit,” he told XXL. “That’s why I’m picky about what I put on my SoundCloud. That’s why I’m taking time with my [first] mixtape. I‘m going crazy. If you look on my tracks, bro, it shows you my progression.”
Since 2015, Cash Carti has built experience touring with both Lil Uzi Vert and A$AP Ferg, modeling for Drake’s Summer OVO Clothing collection and signing to Interscope Records, where an A&R has called him a "natural born star." The 21-year-old explained what he wants to bring with his first mixtape.
“I just want niggas to look at it and say, ‘If this young nigga from Atlanta can do this, so can I,’” he said. “I want everybody to get money. My new mixtape is going to show niggas this is the way."
