Kelis has to cough up $17,623.73 to give to Soraya Tascon after the "Milkshake" singer left her former nanny stranded in London. According to The Blast, Soraya was hired in June 2016 to travel with Kelis on tour and take care of her then six-month-old baby and seven-year-old son who she shares with Nas.
Soraya got paid $750 a week to feed, bath, change the babies and pack for them for every destination. Kelis apparently didn't follow through on her payments and when they were London Kelis fired her and did not provide a plane ticket for her to get home to Los Angeles. Soraya caught a flight to Madrid to see her mother and then flew home from there paying $1,200 for a ticket.
Soraya filed a complaint to the Labor Commission of the State of California and won. According to the publication, the Labor Commissioner did not care to hear Kelis' argument in the matter as the evidence was clear and Soraya was a victim.
