As she's done twice, thrice, many times before, Jorja Smith is back with her take on a soul or hip-hop classic. This time around the song in question is Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" made famous by Lauryn Hill of The Fugees. Jorja was at the Like a Version studio in Australia to record the session, after helping the Laneway Festival come away with a successful launch weekend.

Her favor to the Laneway organizers included stops in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Fremantle, ending several hours ago. As of this writing, Jorja Smith is enduring an overnight flight to LAX, where she looks to enjoy the first of many Grammy nominations. The Laneway festival, ever so grateful for her presence, even issued a congratulatory statement regarding her first nomination.

“Jorja has (deservedly) been nominated for a Grammy Award in the prestigious Best New Artist category and will be attending the awards, which clash with the second weekend of the Laneway Festival’s national run,": they said via social media.

Check out Jorja's live rendition of "Killing Me Softly" as well as her performance of "The One" - and don't be shy with your Grammy predictions. Hit us in the comment section below, that is if you haven't already turned your back on the academy.
