Update: Download the tape at the bottom of the page!
Tonight was full of surprises -- from the return of Meek Mill to a bundle of exclusives on OVO Sound Radio -- but the rap game recently came to a complete standstill when Future tweeted, "11:56 LiveMixtapes.com." He soon shared the cover art to Purple Reign, his latest mixtape, executive produced by DJ Esco and Metro Boomin.
Of course, it's now well past 11:56 PM, and the Purple Reign is still yet to commence. Those who logged onto LiveMixtapes at the precise time Future suggested found that the site was near unresponsive, and almost an hour later, there's still no Purple Reign download link.
However, soon after the site got overwhelmed with traffic, LiveMixtapes admitted via Twitter that Purple Reign is not quite finished -- "@EscoMoeCity and @MetroBoomin are putting the finishing touches on it now!!"
So, perhaps there was a communication breakdown within the Freebandz camp. Hopefully "finishing touches" means they'll submit the mastered mixtape before daylight, but who knows. The prospect of a new Future tape has us reeling, though, so we're gonna stay up and pray. Please, Metro Boomin, give us some more.
