The soundtrack of upcoming boxing film "Southpaw" will be executively produced by Eminem.

We got a surprise back in March when the first trailer for the Jake Gyllenhaal-starring film "Southpaw" dropped with a snippet of a new Eminem song attached. As the film also stars 50 Cent, we should've guessed that Shady Records was involved in some way. In a new press release on the label's website, we learn that the upcoming film's soundtrack will be executively produced by Em himself.

CEO Paul Rosenberg had the following to say about the film and accompanying soundtrack:

“We have been involved in developing Southpaw since it’s inception and Eminem has dedicated himself to ensuring that this film captured his passion for the project through his music. We’ve assembled a great soundtrack to accompany what’s sure to be one of the finest boxing films ever.”

"Southpaw" hits theaters on July 24th.
