Post Malone "Rockstar" reign has ended.
Earlier this year, Post Malone and 21 Savage made a major accomplishment in both their careers with "Rockstar." The song's impact helped them break records, stir a bit of controversy but overall, gained both artists their first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then, the song hugged the number one position for eight weeks straight. While it's a major feat to have it on the charts for nearly two months straight, it's reign has unfortunately ended.
"Rockstar" has officially lost it's number one position to Beyonce and Ed Sheeran's latest collaborative effort on the "Perfect" duet. The song was originally on Ed Sheeran's project that dropped earlier in the year but was recently re-released with Beyonce's additional vocals. According to Billboard's report, the song sold 181,000 downloads until December 7th and is up by 202 per cent. As for Post Malone's "Rockstar," it currently sits at number 2 on the Billboard 100 and on top of that, it's also leading the Streaming Songs chart for an 11th week while also leading the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs for a ninth week on both.
Ed Sheeran recently spoke on how his collaboration with Beyonce came about. While he revealed the strange tidbit of information that Beyonce changes her email once a week, he revealed the song has been in the works since May. He also said he and Beyonce sat in the studio together to make it happened where they bounced ideas off of each other for four hours.
