Drake confirms the death of his good friend & OVO Sound affiliate Fif.

It appears to be a sad day for the OVO Sound crew. According to the boss man Drake, OVO affiliate and longtime friend Fif has passed away. There’s no details yet as for what caused the death, but based on the 6 God’s reaction it appears to be shocking and out of nowhere. Rumors are saying he was shot last night in Toronto, but that can't be confirmed at this hour.

Drizzy took to his Instagram page a couple hours and confirm the passing by saying… “RIP to one of our family members… our brother… I still cant believe this morning was real. It was a honor to have shared years together andIwill always keep your memory alive #ForeverFif”

While Fif may not have been a house hold name, Drake did reference him in his song “No Long Talk” off his latest More Life project. Drake raps “Just know man like Fif, he's a sickaz. You get tanned, he don’t miss tings,” which in other words means Fif is Drake’s sharpshooter and he doesn't miss a shot.

Over the past week, Drake has been spotted working on a new music in his home studio in Toronto, which has seen a Beyonce poster on his wall for inspiration. But something tells me that Fif will be somehow addressed in one of Drake’s upcoming songs, whether just a line or full record, Drake will look to have Fif’s memory live on in some way or form. Check out Drake’s IG post (below).

Our condolences go out to the OVO Sound crew and to Fif’s family & friends. R.I.P.

In other related news, Drake's security team reportedly roughed up singer Shawn Mendes at one of The Weeknd's show. In case you missed it, hear that story told by Shawn himself on Jimmy Fallon last night here.
