Donald Trump is not your average President of the United States. When most might associate the highest political office in the country with someone who will concern his or herself with important issues, such as international diplomacy, job creation or climate change, Trump is instead picking more fights on Twitter than the general public can keep track of at this point. His latest war of words targets LaVar Ball, the patriarch of basketball's tabloid-staple family, after he questioned how much the President was actually involved in getting his son, LiAngelo Ball, out of a sticky situation overseas.

For those how haven't been following the saga, LiAngelo and some of his NCAA teammates were detained in China after they allegedly shoplifted items from a local store. Donald Trump had a big show on social media of his involvement, supposedly putting aside other issues to make the men involved with this public embarrassment returned to their home country safely. After the players touched down on home soil last week, the President wanted a formal "thank you" from the UCLA players who had stepped outside the law, which he got in a later press conference. However, while the players may have been extolling the virtues of Trump and his handling of the situation, LaVar had a different idea.

According to TMZ, the outspoken Big Baller dissed Trump in an interview a few days for ESPN, saying that he had his doubts as to how much Trump helped free his son from Chinese authorities. Predictably, this drew a rather angry response from the President on Twitter, writing the following: "Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!" Strong words from Trump and ones that have not yet elicited a reaction from LaVar, but knowing him, that shouldn't take too long.

Even members of the hip-hop community weighed in on the LiAngelo Ball controversy and Donald Trump's self-appointed title as the savior of the situation, including Lil Yachty. Read more about what he had to say here.
