The hip-hop community has firmly stated their stance against the NFL, which is why the news that Travis Scott would be performing during the Superbowl Halftime Show caught millions off guard. There are petitions in the thousands asking Maroon 5 to step down, but having Trav join them almost negates all that hard work. Some believe that Trav will make an important political statement during his performance, others have already written him off that easily. Hip-hop legend Common isn't quick to cancel La Flame, but he wishes Trav wouldn't do the performance either.

TMZ caught up with Common on his way to Equinox and asked the historically politicized rapper how he felt about the situation. "I ain't with supporting... the NFL don't really support Black people," began Common. "When I say supporting Black people, Kaepernick said he's standing up for people who are being shot down, black and brown. The NFL basically blackballed him. They've shown how they feel about us for real." He continued on to state his love for Trav before revealing how he really feels. "I love Travis Scott, he's a dope dude but, I really don't want to support none of that stuff," Common explained. "Travis is doing what he's gotta do. I feel like man, I wish he wouldn't [do the halftime show] to be honest."
