Cardi fans want her to think of the animals.

Cardi B is set to perform at this year's Houston Livestock Show at the NRG Stadium on March 1st but over 17,000 people are urging the rapper not to due to the alleged mistreatment of animals that happens at the Rodeo. An online petition currently has 17,985 supporters as we type this asking the "Bodak Yellow" rapper "to stand up for these poor animals."

"Cardi B has 11 dogs, that's how much she loves animals," the description reads. "She may not know all the ways animals are being abused to make this Houston event go on though. That's why it's up to us, her fans, to ask her not to use her name and popularity to support such gruesome behavior."

Since the petition has now gained some traction the Rodeo has released a statement to Billboard letting it be known that the animals are treated well and a vet is always on site to take care of the ones that participate in the activities.

"The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ strongly believes in the importance of animal welfare," they wrote. "We take great pride in the care and attention our livestock receive throughout the Rodeo. We work closely with veterinary professionals and the Houston SPCA who are on-site daily. We are looking forward to welcoming Cardi B on March 1 and would be happy to show her how we treat all animals."
