The 2018 BET Awards red carpet coverage featured the standard tropes of any likeminded telecast, including an arsenal of celebrities waxing materialistic about the designers who have dressed them, whilst expressing their excitement for the upcoming ceremony. However, an unexpected guest appearance during Sunday afternoon's proceedings left many confused and simultaneously engrossed.
Pre-show hosts Terrence J and Cassie were speaking with singer Tank as a policeman walked directly into the frame, obstructing and effectively terminating the interview.
The officer can be heard saying "you guys are done, go back to where you were," as Terrence J reminds him how "you know we're live on television right now."
Eventually, a gaggle of constables interrupted the camera once again, effectively shuffling the hosts and their interviewee off to the side while they dealt with more pressing matters.
