It looks like Big Sean is going to have to make some more room on his wall for another plaque. On Wednesday, the Detroit rapper took to Instagram to announce that his latest album, I Decided, has officially gone platinum, selling over 1 million copies since being released back in February.
“For the creatives, the dreamers I made this album for, I Decided is now certified platinum. The fans got me 4eva. Thank you #DonLife GOOD Music/DEF JAM #BacktoBackPlatinumAlbums #IDecided yeeeeeeee,” he captioned his IG post with a picture of him next to the plaque.
The album follows the success of some its very own singles, like “Bounce Back” which is 3 times platinum & “Moves,” which too has gone platinum. Meanwhile the record with Eminem “No Favors” is certified Gold at the moment, but don't be surprised if that hits platinum level soon with Em’s album on the horizon.
I Decided debuted at the number one spot on Billboard 200 with 151,000 units moved, 65,000 of which were pure album sales. It served as Sean's second consecutive number-one album, following 2015’s Dark Sky Paradise, which too went platinum.
This news of I Decided going platinum comes just a couple weeks after finding out that Sean might have some new heat with the Migos on the way. “We got a lot of records. We got records with Ty Dolla $ign, records with Big Sean, records with Drake, records with Travis…we gon’ keep it going,” Quavo said, but he didn’t tell us when to expect them. It sounds like they might be features off Culture 2, but time will only tell.
