Families of the tragic Las Vegas festival shooting, where a man opened fire on a crowd of concertgoers killing 58 people and seriously injuring 10, will be receiving an equal amount of money from the $31.5 million victims’ fund that started as a GoFundMe. Billboard reports that each family will be receiving $275,000.
“In no way can it replace someone’s life,” Al Etcheber, the brother-in-law of Stacee Etcheber, who died told the publication. “Still, it is a real nice way to help families who lost someone they loved.”
The fund that will be helping these families was said to have received more than 90,000 donations with a good chunk of funds coming from southern Nevada gambling, tourism, and entertainment companies. We previously posted that the UFC donated a whopping $1 million. "At the end of the day, this is our city -- we love this place," UFC President Dana White previously stated.
On the night of October 1st, 2017 Stephen Paddock opened fire from his hotel room shooting at the attendees of the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. The shooting has been considered the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
